“Today, teaming up with the church for a vision clinic, we provided eye exams and glasses to over 135 people. As someone with poor vision, I felt deeply for those without access to eye care and prayed that these glasses would transform their lives and bring them healing.”
Today, we teamed up with the church to hold a vision clinic for the community. Our hosts mentioned that the church’s August outreach event timing was perfect. They had put on a vision clinic previously at a local school and desired to bring another one with some anticipating and partnership with the church. This allowed us to work with the church leadership to conduct eye exams and provide both reading and distance glasses to those who needed it. We even had sunglasses available. After working at the clinic for six hours we were thrilled to serve over 135 patients with new glasses. It was wonderful to see the church and the Envision team join forces to make this much needed event happen.
As someone who struggles with poor vision but has the convenience of modern eye care I deeply empathized with those who may not have known they had vision problems and lack access to such resources. I found myself praying to our loving God asking that these glasses would improve their lives in ways I can’t even imagine. I prayed for their health and for God’s restoration in their lives.
